By Joseph Sutton

I am once again ushered to a new home

Driven here by my father’s stupidity and charisma

A daycare this time, at least there’s fun to be had

Two step-sisters, to be forgotten as everyone before them Like every other friend or acquaintance, gone

Small children roam the rooms filled with colorful foam Once I knew their names, now they escape me

Their faces a blur in my mind

My experience a memory of a memory

Ephemeral, not my own,

But nonetheless in the padded white room of my mind

My father opens up a store

Made for video games and parties

I loiter in boredom, hoping to find

Something more exciting than just a game

I want to create, I want to teach others

A young mind as myself wishes to change

But another incident happens, whisking me away From this life to the next

One that I will remember even less
