I’m going back to black

I am no longer a beacon to society,

I am not a face that will be associated with

the greatest because there isn’t the

perception of what claims to be my race,

and receive praise for showing how much

times have truly changed,

I’m going back to black.

Do not group me in with white women and

white men with power that biographical

is mine as well, and call it integration...

And be mad when I want monetary value

instead of “good job” as compensation,

I’m going back to black.

Because this isn’t me, and in me I mean

my people.

This is your place to put on things

like toys so people really think we equal as

your privilege enjoys.

This is “Well is she reallllly black?”

“Am I, Possibly but I guess good as ever to

still indulge in mixed camaraderie.”

So yes I’m going back to black because I

never wanted to leave,

nor change to change the way black people

are perceived.

I am going back to black.
