Forgotten Meaning

It’s odd how “forever”

turned into “never”

Or how “for life”

turned into “goodbye”

It’s odd how words 

seem to lose meaning

when they come out of your mouth

and find their way into my mind

Keeley Bernard is a senior double majoring in English and mathematics at Tuskegee University. She is a 2024–2025 HBCU White House Scholar, a Tuskegee University Presidential Scholar, and an Alvin Blount Scholarship recipient.
